How much does a single unit cost?
As a domestic student enrolling into a single unit, the cost will be full fee and is based on the government-classified area of study to which the unit belongs. Explore the complex factors and issues that impact health and wellbeing across a wide range of demographics. You’ll gain an understanding of the determinants of selected health issues in urban and rural Australia, as well as in global contexts.

Health Information and Data
Single unit
Be equipped with the necessary skills to be a consumer and provider of health research information. You’ll be introduced to qualitative research practices and will learn how to critically analyse population health research.

Cross Cultural and Indigenous Psychology
Single unit
Gain an understanding of how you can better meet the mental health needs of culturally diverse clients. In this unit, you’ll examine theoretical perspectives from cross cultural and Indigenous psychology, while exploring the role of culture on adaptation, as well as individual and group behaviours. The Indigenous content has been developed in collaboration with experts in Indigenous knowledges and includes the examination of the social, political, and historical determinants relevant to the mental health of Indigenous Australians.

Learn how the many disparate areas of public health connect to promote and protect community health at a local and global level. You’ll explore evidence-based approaches to public health problems, their causes, and solutions, while being encouraged to position yourself within public health debates.

Health Promotion

Discover health promotion concepts and approaches in how they relate to contemporary health issues in Australia and worldwide. You will learn how key developments within the discipline have contributed to current understandings of health, its determinants, as well as the discipline of health promotion practice.
Master of Speech Pathology prerequisite
The Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology unit meets the human anatomy and physiology prerequisite requirements for our Master of Speech Pathology. If you don't currently meet this requirement, take the first step towards your career in a speech pathology by enrolling in this single unit.
Please note, our Master of Speech Pathology has limited places and entry is competitive. Successful completion of this unit does not guarantee entry into the course.

Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology
Single unit
This interdisciplinary unit provides an overview of the basic sciences of human anatomy and physiology, exploring issues of relevance to the health sciences. Specific topics to be addressed include: organisation of the human body, outlining anatomical terms, chemical and structural bases of cell function, body tissues including integument, homeostasis and physiological control via neural and hormonal mechanisms that maintain a constant internal environment.
