Postgraduate (further study)

Invaluable industry experience

As an undergraduate, you'll undertake at least 60 days of practical work experience so you can enhance your skills and understanding of renewable energy engineering and develop valuable professional networks before you graduate.

Professional recognition

Deakin's Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is fully accredited by Engineers Australia at our Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus and online. Though not currently accredited at our Melbourne Burwood Campus, we're working towards accreditation as we prepare our graduates for transition to employment. Accreditation provides recognition against international benchmarks, allowing graduates to practice as professional engineers around the world.

World-class teaching experiences

Our engineering facilities are designed to be versatile and support students, researchers and staff in conducting a range of tests and research projects. You’ll gain access to a wide range of equipment including basic water quality meters, balances, drying ovens and furnaces. There's also more complex equipment such as spectrophotometers and total organic carbon analysers.

Flexible study options

From 2024 you can choose to study at our state-of-the-art engineering precinct at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus, our new purpose-built facilities at the Melbourne Burwood Campus, or online. You can also set your own pace and switch between part- and full-time study to suit your work, lifestyle and other commitments.
