Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Financial Assistance Grant

If you are in your final trimester/semester of study, are undertaking a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement and experiencing financial hardship consider applying for this grant.

Applications for Trimester/Semester 2 2024 open 28 August 2024.

Applications for Trimester/Semester 2 2024 close 2 September 2024 at 5pm.

Limited funding is available and applications will only be open for this short period of time.

Benefits

This grant offers a one-off cash payment of a minimum of $500.

The exact value will be confirmed at the time of offer.

Eligibility criteria

Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.

To be eligible you must:

  • be enrolled full time in your final trimester/semester of a bachelor degree in Trimester/Semester 2 2024
  • be enrolled in one of the following WIL units within Trimester/Semester 2 2024 with a confirmed placement arranged with your faculty:
    • HMI403 - Medical Imaging Practice 8 (12 weeks)
    • HNN325 - Quality and Safety: Comprehensive Nursing Practice (5 weeks)
    • HSW415 - Social Work Field Education B (13 weeks)
    • SIT344 - Professional Practice (12 - 24 weeks)
    • SRM772 - Built Environment Practical Assessment (4 - 12 weeks)
  • not have received any other financial support (scholarship, bursary, grant, support scheme) administered by Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 2 2024
  • be able to demonstrate that the placement will add to financial hardship by way of lost income or additional expenses incurred.

Conditions

As a grant recipient you:

  • must complete a feedback form which will be emailed to you soon after the completion of your WIL Placement.
  • will be required to immediately return the WIL Financial Assistance grant payment made to you if you do not undertake the placement detailed in your application.

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation.

If you are successful, you will be contacted by the email address you nominated within your application portal account, unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.

You'll find out if you were successful usually within four weeks of the application closing date. If you have not received an offer by this time, you have been unsuccessful. You can view the status of your application via your scholarship application portal account.
