How to apply

Apply directly to Deakin

You can apply for this scholarship directly to Deakin through our Scholarship Application Portal.

When applying direct to Deakin for this scholarship, select the 'Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2024' option and, if eligible, your application will automatically be considered for this scholarship.

This reduces the number of scholarships you have to apply for and increases your chances of receiving a Deakin scholarship.

Apply for this scholarship

The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one.

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.

If you are successful, you will be contacted by the email address you nominated within your application portal account, unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.

You'll find out if you were successful usually within four weeks of the application closing date. If you have not received an offer by this time, you have been unsuccessful. You can view the status of your application via your scholarship application portal account.

Additional opportunities

There may be an opportunity for the scholarship holder to participate in a work placement and/or PR activities with Pitcher Partners. The decision to accept any potential offer is the students’ and will not impact their eligibility to receive the scholarship.

About Warren Galgut

Warren was a highly valued member of the Corporate Finance Team of Pitcher Partners in Melbourne.  After stints at Big 4 Accounting firms and boutique Insolvency Practices, Warren found his home at Pitcher Partners, specialising in M&A Advisory and Financial Due Diligence engagements.  Warren was respected by his clients and peers alike, for his technical acumen and strong work ethic.  He was a patient mentor to junior staff and a well connected Director into all divisions within the firm.

Warren was a keen cyclist and could often be seen in the early hours of the morning of Studley Park or Beach Road.  He was an avid animal lover and had a dry sense of humour that would often leave his family, friends and colleagues in hysterics.  He loved to travel, spending countless trips overseas with his partner Em and he was a doting father to two beautiful children, Oliver and Amelia.

Unfortunately Warren was diagnosed and later succumbed to motor neurone disease (MND). Warren faced this challenge head on and spear-headed numerous initiatives to raise money for Fight MND.  In typical Warren style, he attacked this fight with raw honesty and looked for any angle he could find to bring humour to an otherwise devastating situation.

Warren is missed by all that knew him and he would be so proud to lend his name to this most worthy scholarship.
