Scholarship offer rounds
Early Round: To be considered for these early round scholarship offers you will need to submit your application and all supporting documentation by 5 December 2024 at 5pm.
Round 1: To be considered for these Round 1 scholarship offers you will need to submit your application and all supporting documentation by 7 January 2025 at 5pm.
We will be aiming for full allocation at this round.
Re-offer Round: To be considered for any remaining scholarships, not taken up in previous offer rounds, you will need to submit your application and all supporting documentation by 31 January 2025 at 5pm.
All scholarships will be offered within six weeks of the Re-offer round closing date.
Benefits
100% of your student contribution (tuition fees).
100% of your Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF).
A cash payment of $5000 per year ($625 per credit point).
Participation in the Vice-Chancellor's Professional Excellence Program – an exclusive opportunity for professional and personal growth that runs for the duration of the scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded for the normal full-time duration of the course.
Eligibility
Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.
To be eligible you must be:
- an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
- commencing at Deakin University in an undergraduate bachelor degree in Trimester/Semester 1 2025
- enrolled full time unless there are exceptional circumstances preventing full-time study
- enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP).
You must be able to demonstrate academic achievement in one of the following:
- an ATAR of at least 95 or International Baccalaureate equivalent
- dux of your high school.
Consideration will be given to:
- your extra-curricular activities and achievements, for example in the areas of leadership, community service, the arts, volunteering or sport
- students experiencing personal or financial hardship.
Conditions
Continued eligibility depends on recipients maintaining a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 70 and participation in the Vice-Chancellor's Professional Excellence Program.

Supporting documents
As part of the application process you are required to upload supporting documentation by the various round closing dates listed above.
Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents as it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded into the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember it is quality, not quantity, you need to provide.
Aim to provide documents which are current, relevant and concise.
The supporting documentation required includes:
- evidence of your leadership activities or community service achievement
- evidence of your sporting or other achievements.
How to write a successful application:
Applying for a scholarship isn't just about meeting the eligibility criteria.
It's a good idea to think about why you want a scholarship, it’s your opportunity to stand out and be recognised for where you’ve come from and where you want to go.
One application multiple scholarships:
When applying direct to Deakin for this scholarship, select the 'Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2025' option and, if eligible, your application will automatically be considered for this scholarship. At the same time your application will also be considered for all other scholarships that you are eligible for in the selection process.
This reduces the number of scholarships you have to apply for and increases your chances of receiving a Deakin scholarship.

Apply directly to Deakin
You can apply for this scholarship directly to Deakin through our Scholarship Application Portal.
When applying direct to Deakin for this scholarship, select the 'Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2025' option and, if eligible, your application will automatically be considered for this scholarship.
This reduces the number of scholarships you have to apply for and increases your chances of receiving a Deakin scholarship.
The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one.
What happens next?
Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation.
You may also be invited to attend an interview to chat about your application or be asked to provide referee statements.
We will commence offering a limited number of scholarships towards the end of December 2024 with the remainder of scholarships offered progressively from mid-January 2025. To give your application the best chance possible of being considered in all offer rounds, you should submit your application and supporting documentation by 5 December 2024 at 5pm.
If you are successful, you will be contacted by the email address you nominated in your application portal account, unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted. You'll find out if you are successful usually within six weeks of the Re-offer round closing date. If you have not received an offer by this time, you have been unsuccessful. You can view the status of your application via your scholarship application portal account.
Next offering period
Following the application period detailed above this scholarship will again be available for offer in:
- Trimester/Semester 1 2026 (early-September 2025 to early-January 2026)
