How to apply
To apply for a study abroad program, it's important to do your research, consider how you will fund your experience, and prepare your application well in advance of the deadlines. Start by working through the steps below to decide which program is right for you.
Attend a compulsory information session
You must begin your application process by attending a compulsory information session, or viewing one that has been recorded. This session will outline the programs available, eligibility requirements and available funding.
Consider which program is right for you
After you've learnt about the wide variety of programs on offer, it's important to consider which one is right for you. Consider how long you are able to travel for, which destinations and institutions you're interested in, how you will fund your experience and if you'd like to study or also complete a work-integrated learning element.
Read information on our four types of programs – trimester abroad, short-term partner programs, Global Experiential Learning and faculty-led programs – to help you make your decision.
Talk to a Student Central adviser
Once you've decided which program you're interested in, make an initial exchange appointment with a student adviser at Student Central. They will assess your course map to confirm your eligibility for the study abroad program you're interested in.
Prepare your application
Once your chosen program has been approved by Student Central, you can prepare your application. Different programs have different application windows and deadlines, so now is the time to check what's required and prepare all the documents you will need.
