Electrical engineering

DUPE-Power engineering provides first class power labs, access to the latest power systems trainers in renewable energy, power distribution and high voltage for students, industry and the wider Deakin community.

Whether you want to learn power engineering methods yourself or need some additional expertise on your next project, we are here to help.

Spaces and open times

The lab is open from 8am–5pm weekdays and consists of three spaces:

  • Renewable energy lab – KE1.111
  • Electrical lab – KE1.121
  • High voltage lab – KE1.122.01

Accessing the lab

To obtain access to the lab and its equipment, please refer to the inductions page.

In brief, you must compete the following prior to using the laboratories:

  • online lab safety training modules
  • project risk assessment or Work Safety Assessment
  • local area induction session
  • equipment-specific induction.
