Business and Law Peer Mentoring

About our program

Our 5-week peer mentoring program runs every trimester in Weeks 1–5 and is open to all Business and Law students.

We offer a blend of campus and online mentoring so that you can take part no matter where you are located. Joining the program is an excellent way to get started.

Get a mentor

Our student mentors care, and are invested in your success. By joining the program you will:

  • meet with your mentor(s) and a small group of new students weekly
  • gain study support
  • make friends
  • set yourself up for success and be inspired!

Check back here closer to T1 2025 OWeek to apply.

Be a mentor

Are you a current and experienced Business or Law student who wants to support new students? We offer training and resources to help you become a mentor.

By joining the program you will:

  • guide new students and be a role model
  • receive opportunities to attend exclusive events
  • gain experience and skills for future employability.

Eligible students will also gain access to a $700 grant as part of the Faculty Volunteer Peer Mentor Support Scheme.

If you would like a 1:1 appointment to discuss your studies, you can make a time to chat with a student mentor team leader.

Contact us via phone on +61 3 924 68476 or via email at bl-mentor@deakin.edu.au. Appointments are available via phone, Zoom or MS Teams, or in person.

Drop-in sessions

The Successful Mind in Study, Work and Life sessions

The Successful Mind in Study, Work and Life is a guide developed by Prof Michael Bernard for students to achieve success by understanding how their mind works. We will present the first element to the guide. All students who attend the session will gain access to the online guide so they may view further elements in their own time.

Students from all faculties are welcome to attend any of our study sessions but you will need to contact us at bl-mentor@deakin.edu.au if you are not a Business or Law student commencing in T3 so you can request the Zoom details.
