Rural, remote and international placements
Rural teaching experiences
Deakin coordinates additional funding and support for pre-service teachers who choose professional experience programs in rural communities. Through our alliance programs, you can participate in rural education immersion experiences that involve teaching in the Wimmera region of Victoria.
Pre-Service Teacher Placement Grants Program
The Victorian Government has grants of $140 to $420 per day to support completing a teaching placement in an eligible regional or remote Victorian government school.
International placement process
International placements are complex and many factors need to be taken into consideration when planning and finalising these placements from a Deakin perspective. The university is supportive, but needs to fit within accreditation requirements. As these requirements are set externally, they are subject to change.
