At Deakin University, our Professional Experience Framework of Support is guided by the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This framework ensures that Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs) receive proactive, differentiated support tailored to their individual needs throughout their professional experience.

The framework is structured into three interconnected tiers:

Tier 1: Universal Support

Universal support ensures that all PSTs have the necessary information, resources, and guidance to succeed in their placements.

Tier 2: Targeted Support

This tier is designed to address specific challenges, enhance skill development, and provide structured support tailored to individual needs.

Tier 3: Intensive Support

This tier provides individualised, high-level interventions for PSTs facing significant challenges. Intensive support involves a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to address complex issues, ensuring that PSTs receive the guidance and strategies needed to progress successfully in their professional experience.
