Mind Matters is Deakin’s mental health and wellbeing movement. Running throughout Week 4 (Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August), Mind Matters Week offers you helpful information, strategies and resources to enhance your mental wellbeing.

We know that the start of a new trimester can feel a little hectic - it takes time to settle in, adapt to new unit material and find your study groove!

That’s why we’re bringing therapy dogs to the library! Research shows therapy dogs can reduce a person’s stress physiologically. This is because patting an animal can lower cortisol, a hormone implicated in stress, and increase oxytocin – otherwise known as the ‘love hormone’.

So come along to the library and pat a friendly pup so you can head to your next class with a big smile!
