My name is Kaiser, and I'm an International Student Support Officer, and our role is to help you make a successful transition to life in Australia and to study at Deakin.

We have created this useful new International Student Guide to help you plan your travel and arrival here in Australia.

The first section is Preparing for Your Departure. In this section you can read about the first steps you need to take to plan your studies and to organise your travel to Australia. Accepting your offer, enrolling for the first time and understanding your visa are some of the most important things you need to do. It's important to know that there is support available to assist you every step of the way.

The second section Life in Australia, will help you understand more about what living in Australia is like.
We know that discovering a new country is exciting, but it also means adapting to different laws, cultures and ways of doing things. So in this section, we will explain important information that you need to know.

Section three will help you with travelling and arriving in Australia. You will also read advice on what to bring, including what documents you should bring, airport customs and planning your first few days. By planning your arrival carefully, you can ensure you arrive safely and with everything you need.

The final section in this guide is designed to help you make a great start to your study. Your first study period will be exciting, but studying in a new country may also be a bit overwhelming. So in this section you will learn more about important dates, events and support services to help make your transition easier and throughout this guide, you will find checklists, videos, and articles to help you plan your departure and arrival to Australia and Deakin.
