International Student Travel Pass

The International Student Travel Pass (ISTPass) gives you 50% off the price of a 90-, 180- or 365-day myki pass.

You can choose a discounted statewide, Zone 2-only or regional zone myki pass that gives you unlimited travel on buses, trams, and metropolitan and V/Line trains – saving you hundreds of dollars.

For more information on zones, visit the Public Transport Victoria (PTV) website.

To be eligible, you must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course at Deakin. New Zealand students are eligible, but domestic students, international exchange students, students with refugee status, Australia Award scholarship-holders and postgraduate students are not eligible for this pass.

How to apply

  • Complete our online form – you’ll need your student ID and Deakin email.
  • Check your Deakin email for your International Student Travel Pass code (this may take up to three business days to arrive).
  • Visit the International Student Travel Pass website to register your details and buy your pass. You’ll need to provide a passport-style photo.

If you’ve used the pass before (it was previously called ‘iUSEpass’), you’ll still need to apply for a new code from Deakin. Then, just log into your existing account, select ‘Renew pass’ and enter your new code.

Need a refund?

If you’re returning home or no longer using public transport, you can submit a refund request via our online enquiry form. You must include the following:

  • clear jpeg photo of your International Student Travel Pass card
  • mobile phone number
  • student ID number
  • current email address.

We’ll then submit a refund request to PTV Victoria on your behalf. Please allow up to 30 days for the refund to be processed.

For further information or assistance, visit the PTV International students webpage or contact Student Central.
