Other behaviours of concern
If you or someone you know has experienced unwanted and threatening behaviour, on or off campus, we are here to help.
What is concerning behaviour?
Any behaviour that makes you feel threatened or unsafe, offends you, or causes you concern about a person harming themselves or someone else. It may be something that just doesn’t feel quite right.
Specific behaviours of concern
If you witness the concerning behaviour
- Offer support to the person who has been bullied.
- Consider keeping a record of the inappropriate content and behaviour.
- Speak to Safer Community.
Make a complaint
If the matter cannot be directly resolved or direct action has been unsuccessful, you can lodge a formal complaint to Student Complaints.
You can access information about lodging a complaint through student complaints. Safer Community can assist you in this, or you can make a complaint directly.
Deakin will ensure that all reported complaints are treated in a sensitive, fair, and timely manner; that privacy and confidentiality of all parties is respected; and that people involved in all aspects of the resolution of complaints are protected from victimisation.
Penalties can be applied to perpetrators of bullying and cyber-bullying including formal disciplinary proceedings for misconduct.
