International Student Connect
Starting university is an exciting time but it can feel a little overwhelming at first. Our International Student Connect program features events and activities that will help you settle into life in Australia and commence your studies at Deakin.
If this is your first trimester as an international student at Deakin, we encourage you to try as many events as possible – you’ll make new friends, practise your English skills, explore your campus, discover Deakin’s support services and learn about Australian culture. And best of all, participation in all International Student Connect events is free!

Our trips and tours include visits to the Melbourne Zoo, day trips to the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast, Wurundjeri cultural walks, and footy clinics with the Cats at GMHBA Stadium.
Look after yourself
We also provide wellbeing and safety events, such as swimming lessons and mental health workshops, to help you adjust to life in Australia and cope with homesickness.
