Monique Conti
AFL Women’s football league star Monique Conti is truly one to watch, having recently signed on with the Richmond Tigers in April after being awarded the Best and Fairest for her Western Bulldogs victory over Brisbane in the AFLW 2018 Grand Final.
Having made the 2019 AFLW All Australian Team, the young Victorian isn’t just a star on the footy field – she is also a skilled basketballer and signed to the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL.
Although Monique is just 19 years old, her multi-talented sporting career highlights include WNBL Rookie of the Year in 2017 and a nomination for the 2018 AFL Women’s Rising Star award.
Last year, Monique said she dreams of pursuing both sports at a professional level and one day competing at the Olympic or Commonwealth Games.
Monique is studying a Bachelor of Business at Deakin’s Burwood Campus and is a member of Deakin’s Elite Athlete Program, which offers a range of assistance to professional athletes to support their university studies.
We wish Monique all the very best and look forward to seeing more of her games this year.
