About
Discover a world outside of uni with our campus and beyond program! Comprising organised group activities in weeks 6 and 9, we will take you to some of Victoria’s most wonderful attractions and give you a taste of Aussie culture. Everything is arranged for you, so can just enjoy the sights and sounds of your adopted home and make new friends along the way.

Past events
Surf Coast tour
A day trip through the Surf Coast including Torquay, Bells Beach and Anglesea. Students discovered where to surf, hike, ride and camp, and visited the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery on the way home.

Wurundjeri cultural walk
A guided tour around Abbotsford and the surrounding area with a local Wurundjeri educator. Students enjoyed learnings about Wurundjeri culture and history, followed by lunch at Abbotsford Convent.
Bellarine Peninsula tour
Just a short drive from Geelong are the charming seaside
and bayside towns of Ocean Grove, Queenscliff and
Portarlington. This half-day trip covered ferry ports, local
fishing spots and beautiful places to swim!
Melbourne Zoo trip
70 Deakin students spent a great day out at the Melbourne Zoo, the home of over 320 species of animals – including koalas, kangaroos, crocodiles, kookaburras, wombats, dingoes and other Australian classics.
