Pre-arrival checklist

Pre-arrival checklist

It’s very important to have everything in order before you depart for Australia. Use this checklist to make sure you’ve planned appropriately for your travels and your studies.

I have:

  1. enrolled online in StudentConnect.
  2. received my Confirmation of Enrolment.
  3. applied for and received my student visa, and I understand the obligations I need to uphold to maintain my visa.
  4. a pre-departure session.
  5. booked my flights and organised my airport pick-up with Deakin.
  6. organised visas for my family (if applicable) and my welfare arrangements and paperwork (if under 18).
  7. organised short-term accommodation near my Deakin campus for when I arrive. I have researched my long-term accommodation options and applied to Deakin Res.
  8. considered my financial situation and thought about a budget, the cost of living in Australia and how I am going to manage my money.
  9. organised my Overseas Student Health Cover.
