International student experience
A good way to prepare for your studies in Australia is to read about the fantastic and varied experiences of the international students who have come to Deakin before you.
Our Deakin Navigator blog has stories from hundreds of current and former Deakin international students about their experiences and how they spent their time in Australia.
You can also learn more about our campuses and watch a video tour of your campus with a student to learn about where you’ll be spending your time.
The Study Australia website also has a section with stories from students and alumni about their time in Australia that will inspire you.
And, it’s never too early to start preparing to connect with your new Deakin community:
- Our student clubs and societies are a great way to get involved, meet people, share your passion and learn something new. Visit the the website of our student union, DUSA to explore the types of clubs on offer that you can join when you arrive.
- Register for International Student CONNECT, a program of activities for international students designed to help you meet new people, learn about Australian culture, improve your English skills and have fun.
