Your Deakin email
As a Deakin student, you receive your own Deakin email address.
Your Deakin email address is your username/student number followed by @deakin.edu.au. For example, if your username is S00001234, your email address will be S00001234@deakin.edu.au.
All official correspondence from the University will come to your Deakin email address, so it’s essential you check your email every few days so you don’t miss an important news item or notification. You will also receive unit-related communication via email which may be important for an assessment or to pass your unit, as well as other updates that may be critical to your enrolment or the payment of your fees.
You can access your Deakin email in several different ways. You can:
- use DeakinSync (the ‘email’ button is in the top right-hand corner)
- use Microsoft Outlook on your computer or your phone (simply download the program/app and log in using your Deakin username and password, or access the Outlook Web App in a browser)
- add your Deakin email account to your preferred mail app (e.g. IOS Mail, Android Mail and Windows Mail) in addition to your regular email account.
- You can also learn about forwarding your Deakin email to another preferred email account.
Your university calendar
Your Deakin email account also has a handy calendar functionality, which means you can quickly and easily add all the important dates related to your course and see them in one place.
Our university calendars include all the dates related to your enrolment (such as teaching periods, census dates, withdrawal dates, exam periods) as well as the university key dates (such as public holidays and university shutdown periods).
Follow the instructions to add your university calendar to your Outlook calendar now.
