Understanding census date

Census date is the last day you can withdraw from a unit, intermit or discontinue your course for the current study period without it appearing on your transcript and incurring the full financial liability.

If you intend to change your enrolment in these ways, you should do so before census date. Remember, you cannot discontinue verbally in-person or over the phone, you must complete this process in StudentConnect.

Changes to your enrolment must be made by 11.59pm on census date.

Each study period has its own census date. It’s a good idea to put the census date for your study period in your diary.

You can find census dates for all the study periods on the census dates webpage. It’s important to read all information about census date, including your fee liability.

Before census date, check to make sure your enrolment is correct in StudentConnect.

If you have any questions about how census date will affect you, we recommend you speak to Student Central.
