Your timetable

At Deakin, you build your timetable in STAR (which stands for Student Timetable Allocation and Registration).

You will use STAR to enter your timetable preferences and confirm your timetable. You will receive an email when STAR is open and it’s time to select your timetable preferences. In general, the process is as follows:

  • STAR will open for you to enter your class preferences. Changes made here are not immediate, and the process is not first-in, best-dressed: STAR doesn’t allocate your classes until this period closes.
  • Next, STAR will close and classes will be allocated.
  • Finally, STAR will reopen. Now, you can change your preferences (if places are available) and sync your final timetable to your calendar. Changes made during this period are immediate.

A provisional timetable is available each study period to give you an idea of when classes, seminars and other learning experiences are scheduled, which will help you plan ahead. It's important to remember that the provisional timetable is subject to change
