Study support

Deakin provides the support you’ll need to excel in your studies. Whether you want to improve your study skills or need help with an assignment, our online resources, student mentors and staff are here to help.

Students Helping Students

University can be challenging, and no one understands this better than other students. Students Helping Students programs are led by experienced Deakin students, trained to help, whether you need support with getting started at uni, developing study skills, or just want to meet others and share your experiences of life at university.

Getting started

Our students are here to help you settle in to university and find your way around. From peer mentoring to online Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), there is a program for everyone. Make sure to look out for the Orientation Ambassadors during orientation week.

Academic study

Our writing and math mentors are experienced students who provide free, personalised study support online. They can help you plan, research and structure your assignments, understand your marks and manage your time when you have competing deadlines.

Study sessions

Prefer studying in a group? Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are offered for tough units which have large enrolments. The free weekly online sessions are led by a student who recently completed the unit, so they know what you are going through and want to help you succeed.

Language and learning support

Our Language and Learning Advisers can help you to understand your assessment task and provide feedback on planning, writing and revising. They can also suggest strategies to help you further develop your writing and study skills. All appointments are held online via Zoom.
