Can you tell us about your time at Deakin? Is there anything you especially remember?
Going to university is one of the most fulfilling times of your life. I really enjoyed having a peer group with whom to learn and grow both personally and professionally.

What has been your journey since finishing your course? Briefly outline your career path prior to your current role.
I was fortunate to build a professional profile and portfolio of clients in a respected family practice from the very beginning of my career.
I'm proud to play an ongoing part in West Carr & Harvey's 70-year history because it exemplifies the firm's stability and the strength of our working relationships.

What has been the biggest influence on your career?
Accounting and finance is a family profession, therefore, the influence of my father played an important role. I have also been influenced by the continual growth of our Geelong community and been proud to play a part in helping to develop its professional identity.

Have you always wanted to pursue the kind of career you have embarked on? If so, when and how did you realise?
Observing business trends both locally and globally has kept me interested in the world of finance. It's a discipline that requires constant education and learning; any career in finance becomes a lifestyle choice really in that it impacts most areas of our lives.

What advice would you give graduates wanting to pursue a similar profession?
Think about how you want to use your skill set, which firm inspires you the most and always be eager to continue learning.

What do you believe Deakin University has shown you/given you as a person?
Deakin University is a progressive leader in the education industry and has a global identity. In the area of finance, its reputation is impressive and gives graduates an unparalleled opportunity to continue developing their careers. Personally, through my ongoing affiliation with the institution, I feel a sense of support being in such an established network.

What are your passions outside your work?
I'm passionate about sustaining an active lifestyle, as well as contributing back to the community. The following are some of the committees in which I participate:
