Coursework units

For most areas, the required unit/s will be finalised by the academic unit prior to any offer of candidature. In the case of the Faculty of Health, the unit will normally be determined early in your candidature. No additional fees will be charged for coursework units listed below undertaken at Deakin.

All students must complete all of the units specified for their department or school.

Department of Accounting

Students must complete two units from each of the following two groups (4 units in total):

Group I:

Department of Economics

Department of Finance

Deakin Law School

Student must complete 3 units:

• MRL901 Advanced Legal Research
• MRL908 Discipline Reading Unit (Law)

AND one elective from the four units below:

• MMM905 Philosophy of Research
• MMM906 Qualitative Research Methods
• MMM907 Quantitative Research Methods
• MMM909 Meta-analysis Research Methods

Or another unit from any Deakin Faculty approved by the Supervisor and HDR Director (Level 8 or 9).

All students in the Faculty of Health must complete at least one unit from a selection of core units below. Please contact your supervisor and school HDR coordinator upon commencement to determine which unit you will be enrolled in. The faculty will then organise enrolment.
