Through strategic collaborations, Deakin engages with key decision-makers and proudly supports local arts, sports and community initiatives. Geelong Cats

Deakin partners with the Geelong Cats through the Deakin Cats Community Centre, offering programs like BioCATS, health education, sports science, internships and joint research. Since 2013, over 140,000 visitors have participated.

Geelong Arts Centre

Deakin is a partner of the Geelong Arts Centre Theatre Season, supporting performances and student engagement. Costa Hall at our Geelong Waterfront Campus hosts events, helping to foster a vibrant local arts scene.

The Gordon TAFE

Deakin partners with The Gordon to offer pathways from TAFE to higher education, enabling diploma students to seamlessly transition into Deakin, expanding educational access in Geelong.

Geelong Symphony Orchestra

As a partner, Deakin hosts performances at Costa Hall, supports local musicians and provides complimentary tickets to Geelong secondary students, enriching the community's cultural experience.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

Deakin sponsors the Elite Women’s Road Race, offering complimentary entries for staff, students and alumni, promoting active participation and supporting community health and wellness.

Give Where You Live

Deakin partners with Give Where You Live to address social disadvantage in Geelong, focusing on educational and employment opportunities, community wellbeing and supporting vulnerable groups.

Host your event at Deakin’s Geelong campuses

Deakin's Geelong Waterfront and Geelong Waurn Ponds campuses offer versatile venues, including tech-enabled spaces, outdoor areas and the English Gothic Deakin Chapel for weddings and memorials.

Over the past 10 years, we have had more than 140,000 visitations to the centre, which shows what a valuable asset the Deakin Cats Community Centre has been for the broader Geelong community.

Health partnerships

We work with health services, general practitioners, hospitals, councils and businesses to provide clinical placements, research opportunities and real-world experience for our students. Key partners include Barwon Health, Geelong's primary public health provider and Epworth Geelong, a leading private hospital in Waurn Ponds.

Access Deakin’s facilities

As an educational, cultural and sporting hub, Deakin's Geelong Waterfront and Geelong Waurn Ponds campuses offer a wide range of facilities and services to the public. Visitors are always welcome at our libraries and our cafes are a great place to meet for a coffee or meal. We also have a gym to workout in, accommodation for short-term stays and lots of different event spaces available to rent.
