Borrow from other libraries
Other university libraries
The CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program and ULANZ Borrowing Scheme allows Deakin students and staff (including DeakinCo) to borrow in person from participating academic libraries in Australia.
To join, take your Deakin Card, photo ID and proof of your Australian address to the service desk of a participating library.
Local libraries
Search the National Library of Australia's (NLA's) Trove for items that you may be able to borrow from a library near you.
International libraries
If you are living overseas, you may be able to borrow from a library near you.
We can liaise with any library you are wanting to join if they request additional information.
Place an interlibrary loan request
You can use our interlibrary loan form to request:
- copies of articles, book chapters or documents we don’t have
- a photocopy of an article that’s only available in a print journal
- a book or other item from another library or supplier for you
- a loan/copy of a thesis from another university
We will try to find another library or supplier who can supply it.
Once we have received the item it will be emailed to you (for copies), mailed to you (if you are eligible) or sent to your campus library for pickup. Note, copies of theses may take up to 8 weeks.

Suggest an item for purchase
We can often purchase resources we don't have and add it to our collection.
We are an e-preferred library, so we will purchase an electronic copy unless a hardcopy is required.
