Using our collection in teaching and research
Citing the University Archives
You can abbreviate or expand a citation when reproducing or referencing a University Archives record. The citation should identify:
- the archives institution holding the record
- the record series of which the record is part
- the record item itself (if available)

Citing unpublished Special Collection material
A correct citation of unpublished material should contain:
- The full name of the library, i.e. Deakin University Library, Special Collection
- The name of the individual collection
- The series or box number
- Description of the item
