Copyright module for graduate researchers

Researchers constantly encounter and interact with copyrighted materials. Whether incorporated into a literature review, data analysis or non-traditional research outputs, the use of other people’s creative works comes with specific obligations you must be aware of.

This module and our Copyright for HDR students resources will give you a greater understanding of copyright considerations when publishing and using other people’s work in your research. The module outlines ways to stay aware of copyright responsibilities, as well as possible issues you can address while researching to avoid larger problems arising upon publication.

The module can be integrated into a PhD Individual Learning Plan. The Copyright for Research module is recommended for research staff, HDR students and supervisors.
