Undergraduate

Undergraduate (your first degree)

A Deakin undergraduate course is the foundation of your future career, usually completed in two to four years. Duration varies based on degree type, enrolment pattern and any credit received from recognition of prior learning.

Postgraduate

Postgraduate (further study)

A postgraduate qualification can be undertaken by students who have already completed an undergraduate degree or possess significant, demonstrable work experience. Postgraduate courses include graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, masters and PhDs, as well as specialist programs for industry professionals.

Choose the right degree

We offer a standard and professional stream within our postgraduate IT degrees. The professional stream is for those with a computing background, providing the opportunity to undertake industry-based learning or a research project. The standard stream is for those without a computing background who are looking to enter the industry.

Pathways to Deakin

Did you know you can study with Deakin from your home country? Complete part of your studies at a partner institution and earn credit towards a Deakin degree or transfer to postgraduate study in Australia. You can also study on campus in Australia with local students at Deakin College, earning you a guaranteed pathway to Deakin University.

Undergraduate pathways

Complete the first one to two years of your bachelor degree at a partner university. You will earn credit towards a Deakin degree that you complete in Australia.

Take the first step towards your dream degree at Deakin College. Based on campus, Deakin College provides a supportive and smooth pathway to a world-class degree at Deakin University. Successfully complete the Diploma of Information Technology and transition directly into a second-year bachelor degree.

Postgraduate pathways

Complete the first three to three and a half years of a Bachelor of Technology at Vellore Institute of Technology or Manipal Institute of Technology in India. You can then transfer to the following postgraduate degrees in Australia:

  • Master of Information Technology (Professional)
  • Master of Cyber Security (Professional)
  • Master of Data Science (Professional)
  • Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence (Professional).
