How our research drives innovation for a smarter, more connected world

Our research focuses on solving the challenges of Internet of Things (IoT) in today's technology-driven world. We work on making smart devices, machine intelligence and cyber security better for use in areas like cities, energy, transport, healthcare, defence and farming.

We bring together experts to work on new ideas in partnership with governments, businesses and communities. With three labs – Cyber-Physical Systems, IoT  Security and Privacy , and IoT Platforms and Applications  – we innovate and create tools that make the future of IoT smarter, safer and more useful for everyone.

Our research areas

We focus on solving Internet of Things challenges by advancing smart technologies, machine intelligence and cyber security. Our research focuses on real-world applications that help make life easier and help industries get stronger in the following domains:

  • smart cities
  • energy applications
  • intelligent transportation systems
  • health care
  • defence applications
  • agriculture.
