Data science lab

Deakin’s Data science lab is a purpose-built facility designed to provide School of IT students with a space for data science and artificial intelligence (AI) research and teaching activities.

Purpose-built for the modern age

The lab comprises a research space and a teaching space; located adjacent to each other and separated by glass doors. The doors can be opened to form a combined space, to facilitate seminars and workshops for larger audience.

The teaching space

Specially designed for flexible teaching, you’ll study within an active learning environment. Interact through several large monitors distributed around the space along with static and movable writing surfaces to help you collaborate with your fellow students.

The research space

Equipped with a large, high quality and high-resolution LED display, enabling rendering of highly detailed images and videos, the research space is perfect for research and collaborative activities. It also has the infrastructure to connect to high performance computing facilities.

The space also contains movable desks and state-of-the-art audio visual and networking facilities, so you’ll be able to easily customise the set-up for research meetings, seminars, workshops and research demonstrations.
