Our comprehensive training programs

Ready to embark on a transformative learning journey with us? We empower practitioners, organisations, service providers and community members to cultivate safer and more resilient communities. We translate research into tangible impact, prioritising actionable insights into all our training initiatives.

One of our flagship courses, Trauma, Neuro and Shame Awareness: Best Practice for Professionals, Organisations and Communities, delves into the intricate dynamics of trauma and shame, equipping participants with invaluable insights to mitigate conflict and cultivate healthier relationships. Collaborating closely with organisations across various sectors, we tailor and refine this course to suit specific contexts and needs, ensuring maximum relevance and efficacy.

Community engagement and outreach

Community engagement and outreach

We hope to increase awareness of trauma and work within communities to break cycles of generational trauma. We see the voices of those with lived experiences as vital to these efforts and work in collaboration with key stakeholders. One example of our work is the establishment of Intergenerational Trauma Aware Geelong (iTAG), a community wide initiative aimed at increasing trauma awareness within the region.

Our research collaborations

We collaborate with national and international partners from universities, health care providers and philanthropic organisations to increase our impact. Our research collaborations include:

  • LEarning from Alcohol (Policy) Reforms in the NT (LEARNT) is a study focused on examining the impact of the reintroduction of the Banned Drinker Register (BDR) alongside the wider framework of alcohol control measures in operation in the Northern Territory.
  • The Queensland Alcohol-related Violence and Night-Time Economy (QUANTEM) study evaluated policy to tackle alcohol-fuelled violence and examine how context moderates the effect of policy on these harms.
  • In partnership with The University of Minnesota and Purdue University, a project is developing and testing a much-needed integrative framework for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to understand the factors that incite as well as inhibit intimate partner violence.
  • Our ongoing collaboration with Odyssey House has resulted in the trial of an evidence-based online relationship program – the Our Relationship program – within four Victorian residential alcohol and other drug treatment services. It has recently received funding from the Victorian government.
  • Industry Insight is a collaboration of independent researchers who provide expert insight into the mechanisms that industry groups use to influence the policy process.
