Medicine facilities
Prepare for the dynamic scenarios you’ll face in the medical industry in our clinical learning spaces or out in the field working with real patients. Our medical facilities include dedicated medicine, optometry and medical imaging training environments, which replicate those found within professional practice. Western Victoria Regional Training Hub
Our training hub gives postgraduate medical students greater opportunities to live, train and work in rural and regional areas. Deakin's program aims to address gaps in rural health care.
Deakin Collaborative Eye Care Clinic
The Deakin Collaborative Eye Care Clinic is a full-service optometry practice where optometry students can offer care to real patients under the supervision of registered clinical optometrists.

Centre of Advanced Sensory Science (CASS)
Students studying nutrition sciences have access to the food sensory labs at the Centre for Advanced Sensory Science. They work alongside world-leading researchers and experience the practical elements of their future careers.
Clinical Exercise Centre
Apply clinical knowledge to real clients alongside accredited exercise physiologists. We treat real patients to create exercise and lifestyle programs that improve quality of life for people living with chronic disease, injuries or disability.
Deakin Sport and Performance Hub
Combining the expertise of the number one sport science school in the world with gold standard equipment and resources, the DSPH team works closely with clients (athletes, sporting teams and school groups) to determine their needs and develop programs best tailored to their individual goals.
Nutrition and Dietetic Clinic
Starting in 2025, we will offer a full-service dietetics practice run by a Deakin team of accredited practising dietitians, who are members of Dietitians Australia. Members of the public will be able to book in a consultation for a tailored nutrition plan.
Nursing and midwifery facilities
Learn patient-centred care in purpose-built facilities at one of the largest nursing schools in Australia – we’re ranked #15 in the world for nursing.
Clinical nursing and midwifery simulation centres
Develop core clinical nursing and midwifery skills in a supportive and realistic environment in our clinical nursing and midwifery simulation centres. You’ll practise safe patient care and build your confidence in simulation wards, clinical spaces and treatment rooms under the supervision of qualified practitioners.
Regional Victorian Institute of Simulation Education
The Regional Victorian Institute of Simulation Education (ReVISE) provides a safe learning environment to deliver simulation-based training for nursing students and health professionals across disciplines and career stages. We also run existing national and international programs, such as E-MET and BASIC.
Psychology facilities
Examine the relationship between brain function, cognition and behaviour at one of the largest psychology schools in Victoria.
Cognitive neuroscience facilities
Access cutting-edge equipment using the latest cognitive neuroscience techniques. From analysing the human mind using transcranial direct current stimulation, measuring the brain electrical activity using electroencephalography or using a gait analysis walkway to measure human movement.
