Gain real-world experience with work-integrated learning
Learn beyond the classroom and build your skills and professional network with an internship. We've forged strong partnerships with industry to give you real-world learning opportunities in every course. Generate work for public art festivals, join a media outlet or film production and more. Be career ready.
Television internship opportunities
We’ve had students working on TV dramas such as Wentworth and reality TV The Block, shooting the background footage of the finished rooms. Deakin students have also completed internships with industry partners such as AFL media, Netball Australia, post-production mixing houses and a theatre company’s film production.
In one instance, our students pitched a youth online television program to the AFL and went on to make it. In another, a student worked in the costume department of Surviving Summer, a TV drama filmed on the Surf Coast and screened on Netflix.
Our students are sport broadcasters!
Meet two of the 19 Deakin students behind the live broadcast for the Deakin Melbourne Boomers home games.
