Content

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to the skills of modelling, analysing and solving real-world problems using mathematical and computational techniques. After completing the unit you will be equipped with a range of tools enabling you to construct a better understanding of complex phenomena, and the ability to implement those tools. These tools include numerical methods to develop computer simulations, stochastic modelling to account for uncertainty, and approximate solvers for large scale mathematical problems.

Hurdle requirement

To be eligible to obtain a pass in this unit, students must meet certain milestones as part of the portfolio.
