Contact hours will vary based on the experience but are expected to be approximately 400 hours working with a host organisation plus approximately 40-60 hours for individual reflection and assessment.

All students are required to have completed specific WIL pre-placement modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to commencing this unit.

In-person attendance requirements

Students must attend and participate in experience-based activities on the scheduled days, as detailed in their agreement/experience outline.

Content

The unit is designed to allow students to undertake a business placement as part of their studies and provides an opportunity for students to explore suitable vocations, gain practical employment experience and develop professional work habits such as teamwork, ethical conduct, effective workplace communication and self-management.

Students will critically reflect upon their experience, relevant graduate attributes, and employability competencies through a progressive assessment process.

Hurdle requirement

Hurdle requirement:

1. Students must successfully complete the WIL pre-placement modules before they can attain access to the unit dropboxes.

2. Achieve at least 50% of the marks available on the submission task that requires reflection on the ULOs to evidence a minimum proficiency.

Unit Fee Information

Fees and charges vary depending on the type of fee place you hold, your course, your commencement year, the units you choose to study and their study discipline, and your study load.

Tuition fees increase at the beginning of each calendar year and all fees quoted are in Australian dollars ($AUD). Tuition fees do not include textbooks, computer equipment or software, other equipment or costs such as mandatory checks, travel and stationery.
