Content

This unit introduces students to themes of disruption, digital transformation, innovation and technology in sport business including their impact for a range of sport industry stakeholders. Key elements of the unit include exploration and analysis of the environment and ecosystem for innovation and technology and the value that can be created via disruption in local and global sport settings. The unit will introduce students to the breadth of current and emerging technology applied in the sport industry as well as develop an understanding of frameworks to assess innovation adoption decisions and investment in new technologies. The unit will assess individual and organisational dynamics around innovation and disruption, aspects of leadership for technological change, as well as address risk, equity and ethical issues within technology adoption and use.
