Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

Content

This unit is designed to develop the skills necessary for sport development professionals to build capacity in community sport organisations through advances in leadership. Students will examine the important roles that boards and committees play in community sport settings, particularly in establishing the strategic direction of an organisation and ensuring the organisation upholds principles of ethics and integrity. Students will be introduced to key legislative policies, organisations, and frameworks, that can provide guidance in relation to ethical decision making and management in sport in the community sport contexts.
