Study commitment | Students will on average spend 150 hours over the trimester undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit. This includes the compulsory attendance in the seminars for assessment purposes. This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site. |

In-person attendance requirements | There will be four compulsory seminars (on-campus and online) that students are required to attend. The purpose of the compulsory attendance is to participate in simulation activity for the assessment 2 and 3. If students do not attend, they will not be able to participate in the assessment. |
Content
This Small Business Management unit offers an in-depth exploration of the principles and practices essential for managing a small business. Students will learn to develop business plans, manage finances and people, and navigate the legal requirements of running a business. By the end of the unit, students will be equipped with the skills to analyse business opportunities, make informed decisions, and implement effective management strategies. Experiential and practical exercises, case studies, and interactions with successful small business owners will provide real-world insights and hands-on experience.
