Study commitment

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

1 x 3 hour on-campus seminar (recordings provided) each week.

1 x 1.5 hour recorded lecture and 1 x 1.5 hour online seminar (recordings provided) each week.

Content

This unit will provide students with a thorough overview of issues around the establishment, management and legal requirements of superannuation funds. Taxation of superannuation funds and superannuation benefits will also be examined, as well retirement income streams and the interaction between superannuation and the social security system.

Hurdle requirement

Hurdle requirement: achieve at least 50% of the marks available on the end-of-unit assessment to evidence a minimum proficiency in the aligned discipline learning outcomes included in this unit.
