Content
This unit provides pre-service teachers with an opportunity to critically engage with the Australian education system. This unit is grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges focused on identities, knowledges, kinship, communities, and histories, as well as the neo-colonial contexts of the contemporary Australian education system. The unit supports pre-service teachers to engage with critical self-reflection through a process of decolonisation, and consider applied decolonial processes in education focusing on policy, curriculum, pedagogy, place and space, and community engagement as part of their future teaching practice.
