Content
In this unit, students will learn and practice core skills that will support them to identify and understand the communication and/or swallowing needs of clients, and to provide speech pathology services across areas of practice. Students will develop skills in working with individuals, families and communities and will learn to use a range of techniques and tools to assess and evaluate communication and swallowing. The central place of lived experience and understanding the broader picture of people's lives will be emphasised. Students will learn about varied models of speech pathology intervention within a framework of evidence-based, inclusive, functional, and holistic practice.
