Study commitment | Students will on average spend 300 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit. This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site. |

Content
Students will undertake a research project individually or in small groups, choosing a research project from the range offered by available supervisors at Karolinska Institute. Students will be required to familiarise themselves with the theory and past research in the area under investigation, and participate in all the steps involved in research, including the ethics application, formulation of hypotheses, design and methodological decisions, collection and analysis of data, and evaluation of the research questions under consideration. Although activities such as data collection may be conducted as a group, students will prepare an individually written report that will be based on the findings of their study. The project is to be regarded as a learning exercise for the student, with guidance and direction provided by the supervisor. Data collected for these projects may be used in the ongoing research activities at Karolinska Institute and/or Deakin University. HPS435X Research Project A (Karolinska Institute exchange) and HPS436X Research Project B (Karolinska Institute exchange) and linked together in both Unit Learning Outcome and assessments.
Hurdle requirement
- Students must complete all assessment to a pass standard to pass the units.
