Study commitment

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

This unit advances students' skills in working with clients across psychology and mental health settings. Students will learn skills in counselling and client-centred and ethical practice, and will learn knowledge and skills related to working with a variety of clients of different ages, cultural backgrounds, and presenting problems.

Hurdle requirement

  • Satisfactory completion of activities focussed on micro counselling and case management skill development, including participation in role play activities, in at least 7 of the 9 three-hour weekly seminars, to obtain a pass or above in the unit.
