Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

This online elective unit is designed to provide nursing students with the opportunity to explore the assessment and nursing management of infants, children and adolescents presenting with acute health conditions. Underpinned by a primary and secondary survey approach, this unit will provide students with the theoretical foundation to provide safe, quality, developmentally appropriate nursing care for paediatric patients in the acute care context.
