Content
This online elective unit is designed to provide nursing students with the opportunity to explore common health challenges and associated pathophysiology of neonates admitted to neonatal services. Neonatal health challenges explored in this unit will include prematurity, respiratory conditions, disorders of metabolism, clinical deterioration and escalation of care. Students will develop and apply nursing knowledge, and mindsets to provide care for the neonate and family where a newborn requires additional care.
