Students will on average spend 150-hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

This unit focuses on developing and maintaining effective and inclusive learning environments in higher education programs that are responsive to the many contemporary challenges impacting providers in Australia and internationally. It utilises a practice-oriented approach to explore professional values, core knowledge and areas of activity that inform inclusive teaching and learning practice to create safe, collaborative, and inclusive learning experiences for diverse learners and learning communities in higher education. The unit applies theories of curriculum design and higher education pedagogy to develop a deeper understanding of designing inclusive learning environments and programs, how learners learn, promoting engagement and equity in learning, the effective use of digital tools and other resources to support learning, and responding to the wider context of higher education and implications for practice.

Hurdle requirement

All assessment tasks must be completed and passed to obtain an Ungraded Pass in this unit.
