This unit further develops students’ writing skills in their language of choice while critically engaging in different written genres in that language. In addition to writing in the target language, there is a focus on practical experience in translating authentic source texts between students’ language of specialisation and English. Practical experience is complemented by exploring key ideas in translation theory that inform contemporary practice. Students will develop key skills for effective translation, which may include using and critiquing resources such as dictionaries and automated translation tools.
