Students will utilise concepts integral to contemporary conflicts, such as political violence, asymmetric warfare, intra-state conflict, peacekeeping, and peacemaking. They will gain wide-ranging insight into the forces that contribute to violence in the region and the complexity of the politics involved. No prior study of the Middle East is required.
